Mr. Mohammad Golam Sarwar Bhuiyan, a member of BCS (Audit and Accounts Cadre), takes over charge as Controller General Defence Finance on 27/03/2023. Prior to this, he was working as the Senior Finance Controller (Army) under Defence Finance Department (DFD). He started his career in Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) in 1991 and, since then, in his long career he has played an exemplary role in the making of policy, strategy, planning, guideline by working in the several important offices of the government.

Academically, he holds a Master of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Dhaka. He also graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Commerce with Honors in Accounting from the same University. However, Mr. Bhuiyan acquired a degree of MSC in Accounting and Finance from University of Birmingham, UK and he was in top five out of 68 students of the world.

During the long tenure of his service life, he served in many important positions such as Director General, Defence Audit Directorate; Joint Director General (Finance), Additional Director General (Finance), Bangladesh Railway; Senior Finance Controller (Air); Director General, Performance Audit Directorate; Director, Performance Audit Directorate; Area Finance Controller (Army) Cumilla; Joint Finance Controller (Air); Finance Controller (Army) Pay-2; Director (Finance) [on deputation], Department of Family Planning; Joint Finance Controller (Air); Area Finance Controller (Army) Bogura; Chief Accounts Officer, Ministry of Information, Communication, LGRD, Housing & Public works and so on.

Mr. Bhuiyan has exposure to many training both at home and abroad. He possesses a distinguish expertise in Government Accounting and Auditing which made him a renowned professional in this field. Moreover, he was widely appreciated for special audit on BCSIR and awarded certificates for his scholarly performance in the training program.
He is a widely travelled person. For Mission Audit purpose, he visited a number of countries including USA, UK, Japan, Canada, Russia, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, K.SA. and many more.

Mr. Bhuiyan was born in a respected noble Muslim family of Chattogram. In his personal life, he is married. His wife is a lawyer by profession. They are blessed with two sons.
